Last month I attended the Visual Studio Connections conference in Orlando. It was generally very good, and I actually preferred it in many ways over TechEd. It is a smaller conference, and more focused on topics that I was interested in. This year it was held in Orlando, at the Hyatt Grand Cypress adjacent to Walt Disney World.
One of the best things about attending these conferences is the ability to network with people, and to find others that are trying to solve the same problems that I am trying to solve. I find it invaluable to discuss how others are tackling the same things I am trying to do, and how they may be approaching things differently than I might be. The only problem with this concept is that most programmers/analysts tend to be a little bit introverted (at least that’s my tendency) and meeting others tends to be the biggest challenge…
