I thought I’d be a little adventurous and install the Office 2010 Beta. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The install was very smooth, and completed without a hitch. I’ve been testing each of the applications to spy out new features. The look and feel is fresh, without being so different as to be too difficult to learn. I like what I’ve seen as far as translation features. I like the improved start-up time. I like the modified ribbon – with the addition of a more traditional “File” menu instead of the way Office 2007 integrated the typical “File” menu options. I’m also intrigued by the versioning features and the TFS integration in the Office 2010 applications.
Can’t wait for the refresh to see how some of these new features might be changed as we get closer to a final version.
