So, I’m testing a 5D Mark IV, and so far I’m very happy with the results I’m seeing. I am a little disappointed in the AI Servo focusing – but I believe it is better than the 5D Mark III, but still not as good at keeping a tight focus on moving objects. I do like the expanded settings (like setting limits on f-stop and shutter speed) and the addition of GPS and Wi-Fi, as well as features like time-lapsed photography built in.
All in all, I’d give it a thumbs up – and I am getting better image quality than I saw with the Mark III – and really like the 30 megapixel sensor. Still, I don’t think it’s up to par with the latest offerings from Nikon or Sony – but it was out first, so that’s something.
