The Gray Hairstreak

Tonight I ran across several Gray Hairstreaks feasting on one of the plants in my yard. Such a beautiful butterfly, I just had to share.

I took several photos – but this is one of my favorites. Shot with my Canon 5D Mark IV and a Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro lens (I’m forgoing my retro film cameras for this – and going digital).

I always enjoy macro photography – and especially enjoy the huge variety of insects and wildlife we get to enjoy since moving to Texas.
