New Orleans

A few weeks ago, my family and I went to New Orleans for a few days. Now that we live in Texas, it’s a little bit closer. We love visiting New Orleans, and always love the food, history and music. New Orleans, though, is both the best and the worst of human nature, wrapped into one compact, explorable, city. It’s always shocking to wake up in the morning, go outside when it’s fairly quiet, to see shop owners hosing down their shops, and the sidewalk. The smell of Bourbon Street in the morning is, well, unforgettable.

New Orleans is, actually, not too different than most cities. New Orleans, though, is a city of extremes. It has both the best of the best, and the worst of the worst. I go there to find great food, innovative music, art and history. Some go to experience an extreme of human decadence. You can party all night, sleep it off on the sidewalk – and nobody seems to care. In New Orleans, it’s truly the best of times and the worst of times. I recommend a visit to New Orleans to experience it for yourself.

Thankfully, because of the great art, history and music, there’s great opportunities for photographs, just exploring, and enjoying the architecture and history of this city. I shot these with my Olympus OM-4T, using Kodak Ektar 100 – enjoy!
