West Mitten and Snow

I recently traveled to Monument Valley and (since it’s winter) we had snow several times while there. The snow (I think) makes a wonderful contrast to the normally brown-reddish and sandy soil in that part of Arizona so I took some photos on film to see how it rendered the colors. I like the look of the film photos I took. I was using Kodak Portra 160 film, in 120 size with my Zenza Bronica SQ-Ai and 50mm lens.

What do you think about the differences between how film renders the colors and the image below taken with a digital camera?

I really like the feel that film produces – especially Portra – and how the colors look. It feels softer and not so intense. It’s fun to compare. Film is different!
